Greeting 2016

With the coming of the new year, I wanted to revamp the website and make it  a little more “amateur” friendly! It now has more of a blog website feel than the just the blog I had initially. It’s a new year, so we’re starting fresh, rejuvenated, and ready with excitement for the future!

My current focuses are not so much about New Year’s resolutions as they are future projects. My Christmas “wish list” was centered primarily on new maker tools, and before the holidays, Humble Bundle came out with it’s second set of maker oriented eBooks (Dec 2 – Humble Books Bundle: Learn Raspberry Pi and Arduino, May 14 – Humble Maker Book Bundle).

In the spirit of starting fresh, I’ve also updated my work space for the new year with some peg-board and I think it looks great! Hey, and it’s functional too!

To name a few things I am focusing on this year which you will see future posts on:

  • Troubleshooting and finishing the Arduino controlled cat feeder
  • A detailed and step-by-step process of my step pedal midi controller project
  • AVR microchip programming
  • Raspberri Pi projects (Got my hands on a starter kit!)
  • Projects using Processing
  • The three items above are likely to be utilized in an art project I have planned that I’ve been referring to as the “Ripple Wall” to those who will listen. More on that later.
  • Volunteering for the World Maker Faire in NYC!

With lots of interesting posts to share in the coming year, I would hate for you to miss anything you find interesting or helpful, so I’ve created a way for you to subscribe to the page (here’s the form below!):

(Note that I will be setting up a way for those on the list to get emails on only the type of content YOU are interested in! Stay tuned!)

I’m excited for what the new year will bring. Let me know if there’s anything you would like to see me cover or work on this year, or tell me about your project plans!
